Product Overview:

Red blood cells are the most common blood cell within the human body. Red blood cells are purified from freshly collected peripheral blood material, which is collected from IRB consented healthy human donors in HemaCare’s FDA-registered collection centers.

Storage Conditions:

Use fresh red blood cells immediately upon receipt.

For cryopreserved red blood cells, storage at -80°C is acceptable.

Testing: Donors are tested for HBV, HCV, HIV, HTLV, WNV, Trypanasoma cruzi, and Syphilis.

CD235a (often referred to as Glycophorin A) is a surface marker used to identify red blood cells. In this graph, we show a representative data set with purity of red blood cells (99.20%) after isolation. (Actual purity may vary somewhat from sample to sample.)
