COVID-19 Immune Cell Products
All the Necessary Research Tools to Investigate the COVID-19 Immune Response
As the world is trying to emerge from the weight of the devastating effects of COVID-19, the research community is urgently working to unravel the immune response mysteries behind the deadly pathology of the SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind COVID-19 pandemic, to successfully stop it at its tracks. At HemaCare, we support these research efforts by offering a comprehensive portfolio of COVID-19 immune cell products, which include vaccinated samples (time series), positive and convalescent biospecimens, and antigen-specific T cells. These tools are necessary to investigate this deadly disease pathology and ensure success when developing COVID-19 preventative measures such as vaccines, diagnostic assays, as well as therapeutic interventions.
Cryopreserved COVID-19 Vaccinated Samples (Time Series)
COVID-19 vaccinated samples (time series) are essential to aid the scientific and clinical efforts in collecting valuable data to enhance our knowledge about the immune response to SARS-CoV-2 and to gather important information regarding COVID-19 vaccine efficacy, potency duration, and response to different viral variants. HemaCare’s COVID-19 vaccinated samples include matched peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), serum, and plasma that are collected at specific timepoints from healthy donors with no prior COVID-19 infection, who have received an COVID-19 vaccine. Each set of “time series” vaccinated samples include one pre-vaccination sample, one sample collected 10-30 days after the first vaccine administration, and one sample 10-30 days after the second vaccine administration, when applicable.
Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Antigen-Specific T Cells (ASTC)
SARS-CoV-2 ASTC are a unique research tool giving you the power to investigate the activation of T cells in response to an antigen derived from the conserved region of the COVID-19 Spike domain (KLPDDFTGCV peptide that corresponds to the Spike protein – position 424-433). COVID-19 antigen-specific T cells can be utilized for a multitude of applications including examining T cell proliferation, cytokine expression, and cytotoxicity in response to the immuno-modulatory activity of specific anti-COVID-19 drugs. These unique cells will provide valuable insight regarding the T cell response to COVID-19 infection, thus accelerating early-stage research, drug discovery, as well as disease diagnosis and treatment. Each SARS-CoV-2 ASTC lot is accompanied with detailed information about donor demographics and is tested for antigen-binding efficiency and T cell functionality post thaw.
COVID-19 Disease State Biospecimens
Whether you’re studying the pathology of COVID-19 or investigating potential vaccines or treatments, HemaCare has access to a wide portfolio of COVID-19 biospecimens from patients who have tested positive with an active infection or who have recovered from infection with SARS-CoV-2. Our COVID-19 product portfolio includes:
Cryopreserved PBMCs (COVID-19 positive and convalescent donors)
Cryopreserved immune cell subsets, including T cells (convalescent donors)
Cryopreserved plasma and serum (COVID-19 positive and convalescent donors)
Whole blood (COVID-19 positive and convalescent donors)
Fresh, FFPE, or frozen lung tissue
Frozen native stool sample
Each sample is accompanied with basic donor demographic information (i.e. age, gender, ethnicity, etc.), in addition to the history of the illness, HLA typing, and antibody titers are reported when available.
