Research Donor
New and effective treatments depend on medical research. In order to further medical knowledge, scientists rely on donors to help conduct their research. As a blood bank, HemaCare is asked to supply scientists with much needed cells from our donors to assist in the development of potentially life-saving therapies and treatments.
How do you become a research donor? There are some situations where a donor deferred for transfusable products may be eligible for research donations. These deferrals may be a year or indefinite. If you are a donor who's become ineligible to donate for transfusion purposes, you may be eligible to donate for research!
Being a research donor is a great way to continue your lifesaving commitment and still qualify for donor recognition awards.
If you are interested in joining our Research Donor Program, please contact Cory Stock at cstock@hemacare.com or at (818) 728-8865. We look forward to seeing you!
